$CLOUT Poetry - My Eyes Bought by The Bucket

ramblingrose

A candid poem revealing the ugly reality of a binge eating disorder

alternate text

It happened again
I did it again
It happened to me
And my stomach agrees

It couldn’t be helped
I could have controlled it
My sabotage knows
And now my body shows

A slug stuck to a rock
Frying in the sun
Can’t comprehend the pain
And why its heart is racing again

I’m full but unsatisfied
It could even spill over edges
But I’d still think I’m in need
Because I can’t uproot this seed

My mouth thinks it’s a bin
But my body does not
My flat smells like grease
Which only heightens the beast

The comfort has eaten
The litter is piling
A constant reminder
That I could have been kinder

I could have resisted
I should have cared harder
But I didn’t, I said: “fuck it!”
My eyes just bought by the bucket.
