All You Need to Know About Chakras

loveunitesin

You've probably heard about chakras and the function they play in the flow of energy in your body if you've ever attended a yoga or meditation class, or had an energy healing treatment like reiki, or merely viewed internet videos about such topics.

You may also have learned that it is critical to maintain your chakras open or unblocked. But what are chakras, and how can they impact your physical and mental well-being?

In this post, we'll look at your primary chakras in further detail. We'll also discuss how these energy centers may affect your mind and body.

What are Chakras?

The word "chakra" means "disc" or "wheel" in Sanskrit and refers to your body's energy centers. These spinning energy wheels or discs relate to certain nerve bundles and key organs.

Your chakras must be open, or balanced, to function optimally. If one of them becomes blocked, you may suffer physical or emotional symptoms associated with that chakra.

Along your spine, there are seven major chakras. They begin at the base of your spine and stretch to the top of your skull. Having said that, some people think your body contains at least 114 distinct chakras.

The most commonly referred to as chakras are the seven major ones, which we will go over in further depth.

What are the 7 Main Chakras?

There are seven main chakras located along your spine, each at a different position. Let's take a closer look at each one.

1. ROOT CHAKRA

Muladhara, or the root chakra, is positioned at the base of your spine. It gives you a foundation for life and helps you feel centered and capable of overcoming obstacles. The root chakra is in charge of your sense of security and stability.

2. SACRAL CHAKRA

Svadhisthana, or the sacral chakra, is positioned right below your belly button. This chakra governs your sexual and creative energies. It is also connected to how you relate to your own and other people's feelings.

3. SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA

The solar plexus chakra, also known as Manipura, is located in your stomach. It is in charge of your self-esteem and conviction, as well as making you feel in control of your life.

4. HEART CHAKRA

The heart chakra, or Anahata, is positioned in the middle of your chest, near your heart. It should be unsurprising that the heart chakra is concerned with our ability to love and be compassionate.

5. THROAT CHAKRA

The throat chakra, also known as Vishuddha, is located in the throat. This chakra governs our capacity to converse orally.

6. THIRD EYE CHAKRA

Ajna, or the third eye chakra, is positioned between your eyes. This chakra is responsible for your strong gut instinct. This is because the third eye is in charge of intuition. It is also related to imagination.

7. CROWN CHAKRA

The crown chakra, also known as Sahasrara, is positioned on top of your head. Your Sahasrara is your spiritual link to yourself, others, and the cosmos. It also has an impact on your life's purpose.
