Decentralized and Fragmented? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

LawrenBryan

Iโ€™m waking up this morning with a coffee in hand. โ˜•

I read a post this morning on the decentralized social blockchain.

This post opened my mind.

And I contemplate how to put an answer into words.

Should you use a movement like decentralizing social as a marketing tactic?

Are we decentralized and defragmented?

Why confuse us more by making a protocol the same name as a movement?

Letโ€™s fix this.

I think it would be prudent to break this down a bit.

Yes, there is a movement to decentralize.

And traditionally, itโ€™s implemented in the financial space.

But Social?

And what applications are considered Social?

In my opinion, there is only one Social application, and that is Facebook.

All others are in some shape or form; showcasing your creativity your professionalism.

So why do we lump all these apps into a bucket called Social?

My thought is the interaction.

We consider interaction to be social.

Like โ€” a comment, ๐Ÿ’– heart โ€” a creative post.

But is that being social?

Are we connecting with that person?

There are 8 billion people on this planet.

We cannot connect with everyone.

Do we need to?

Yes, we do.

We are social creatures.

And finding answers to our questions is in our nature.

So, have we just fragmented ourselves more with decentralizing?

Web 3.0.

Blockchain.

Cryptocurrencies.

Decentralization.

NFTโ€™s.

Creator Economy

But what is driving this Web 3.0 change?

Is it our wishful thinking?!?

Can we distribute wealth between 8 billion people?

Can the internet be more equitable?

How do we do this?

It comes back to the fundamentals.

Communication and content.

Are we not here to contribute to society?

And contribute to the wealth of society, are we not?

Isnโ€™t this our social equity?

So letโ€™s start with some steps.

What is the first step?

We can start by asking questions, receiving answers and contributing.

We either take the current path or build a new way.

My thought is we build a new way with a different outcome.

And โ€˜yes,โ€™ we can change our path and future.

But will we?

Our content, our contribution is the key.

And if our contribution is the key, then letโ€™s determine an approach.

An equitable approach.

๐Ÿ“Œ The internet gives us access.
๐Ÿ“Œ Blockchain holds us to our words, our content, our contribution.
๐Ÿ“Œ NFT gives us control of our content who accesses and uses it.
๐Ÿ“Œ Decentralization keeps us from those that need control.
๐Ÿ“Œ Crypto gives us a method to pay us for our contribution.
๐Ÿ“Œ Our contribution provides value and equity.
๐Ÿ“Œ The Creator Economy pays us a living wage.

However, how do we make this equitable?

You build a new path with a different outcome.

You start by contributing.

We work together to answer questions.

Perhaps we payout a contribution wage, a living wage.

Can we build a new social graph, decentralized, defragmented and equitable?

I believe so, and I think we can.

We start today and fix the marketing.

We contribute to the wealth of society with our unique content.

We change our ways and walk a new path.

We decentralize and defragment!
